Well well well..... finally, the summer has arrived at our house! We are all moved in and things are starting to take an order around the house. I have finally started cooking again and school was out for teachers last wednesday...it's already been a week! WOW!! Time flies when your having fun right?

Ava has turned two and boy oh boy have the terrible two's started. I am pretty sure we don't go a single day with out some sort of a melt down. It's usually because she will live and die for fruit snacks....and we have to cut her off at some point!!! She usually wants something to play with while I am driving and so of course that causes a meltdown as well. I am sort of sad that she is two already, but that definently gets us thinking about another one.... geeesh children are so expensive!!!

Mira is finishing up her last week of school this week in Tulsa, then she moves up to Topeka for the summer!!! YAY

Ava's birthday was fun and so many friends and family showed up !!! It was a blast. We had the party at our new house and everyone fit pretty well into the new space!

Moved!

Well..... we have finally moved into our new home! I will post pictures soon, we are still living out of boxes, no fun! But we ABSOLUTLY love our new home! It feels so nice to have 2 floors that we can roam around on instead of just 1 floor. Life is good. I am out of school in 7 days and I have lots of fun things planned for the girls and myself this summer! Mira is out of school in 2 weeks and then moves to Topeka for the summer, I always look foward to her being her with us in the summer.
Our upcoming summer plans consist of unpacking the house, taking a couple of summer vacations, visiting family doing outdoor arts and crafts, playing in the park, swimming lessons,and enjoying the summer schedule! I have had my teaching contract renewed for another year and that means I will be teaching either elementary special eduaction again or get into a regualr 1st grade or Kindergarten classroom!!! YAY.
Mira is ready to start another year at her summer camp and I have no idea what Ava is ready for expect for driving me crazy.....in a good way :)
I hope everyone is ready for this nice weather, ready or not here is comes! It always amazes me how we can go from 40's to 90's in like 2 weeks, hardly no spring...... oh well, were ready!
Enjoy these warm nights and beautiful days while the flowers are in georgeous bloom! I will post pictures of the new house very soon.....oh and Ava is already turning 2 in a couple of weeks so I will get some current photos of the girls posted too! I know I know I am kind of slacking off..... :)

HOPPY EASTER!

Happy Easter 2009! Time is just flying by, here are a few pictures from Easter weekend. Yet another cold, windy, and rainy Kansas Easter Day! Maybe next year the girls won't freeze in their Easter dresses....probably not though :) We hope everyone had a blessed Easter .

Well I have decided to list all the countdowns that we have going on in our family right now...
1) Schools out for summer in 5 weeks
2) We move to our new home in 3 weeks
3) Baby Ava turns 2 years old in 6 weeks
4) I turn 29 in 9 weeks

Well, we have lots going on and I'll keep updating the blog as we move along through April. Hopefully I will have pictures of the new house after this week. We will get to go over to our new house for the inspections and I will be taking lots of pictures :)
Just remember... April showers bring beautiful May flowers!

HELLO ALL.......

Well for those of you who faithfully follow the blog I AM SO SORRY! I have been a terrible blogger lately. I will do better I promise. I started my new job in January and it has been CRAZY since then. Still, I know no excuse for being a bad blogger!

The most exciting news in our family right not is that the Taliaferro's are MOVING. We have decided to put our first house up for sale and move on to a bigger and brighter future. Our house was pretty small, but it has been so perfect for us up until now. We have just outgrown it. The kids toys are all crammed in corners and on top of eachother and our clothes barely fit in the tiny closets (ok thats just me) but anyway we decided to put it up for sale (yes, in this horrible realestate economy) on St.Patricks day the sign went in the yard....it sold in 10 days! We were not expecting it sell so quickly, well we officially become homelesson May 1st ! We have been house hunting for the perfect find, I will keep everyone posted on the status of our new move!

The girls are doing great and Ava is saying all kinds of things, she is actually speaking short sentences. She pretty much doesn't stop talking...must take after her dad! Mira is ....well......a pre-teen, need I say more? She is super fun , on the days that we are "cool" but she wants nothing to do with us on the days we are so "not-cool". Her friends are so important to her right now and she is getting really excited to move down for the summer. She loves to go to her summer camp with her best friend Alyssa. Summer is only 35 days away for the kidst.

I was going to teach summer school this year, but with the move and all, I'd better focus on getting our house in order!

Work has been busy for Jason and I and I am learning so much about teaching, students, families and education in general! I love it. This is definently what I was meant to do. However, I really do miss bartending at Red Lobster too.....maybe this summer? Not much has changed with Jason's work still working on various projects at Ft.Riley everyday. He is truly enjoying the house hunt thats for sure!

Well thats about it for now. I will be posting much more often, I promise!!!

January 2009!

Well HAPPY NEW YEAR!
Life has been so busy this month. I (Amber) started my first official teaching job. I work for 501 as an Elementary Special Education Teacher. Boy oh boy I am keeping busy. I am a traveling teacher and I spend half of every day at a different school, makes for an interesting day. The girls are getting back into the groove of school and preschool. Mira and Ava had a great Christmas break and of course it wasn't long enough. They are growing so fast, it makes me sad to think about it. Ava will be two this may and Mira is 11 1/2 already!
I havent posted a blog for SO long because I broke our camera at my Graduation in December and then we didnt get a new one until recently. We dont have any Christmas pictures to show so these are some new pics that are mostly from last weekend, except the Graduation pictures are from early December ! Enjoy and have a great week. Well Thanksgiving has come and gone and Christmas is here in a few weeks. I haven't done any shopping and we just got our tree up last weekend. I love Christmas time but for some reason it seems to have just crept up on me this year! I am officially done with my Bachelors Degree. I graduate next Friday night and cant wait. I haven't decided if I will continue on to get my masters degree or not yet. I probably will not for a few years. I will be teaching 3 and 4th grade special education to finish off this school year at Whitson Elementary School. I have learned so much looking back over the past 3 years at Washburn University. I hope I will be a great teacher! Ok well I posted our family Christmas picture,but no worries... you'll be getting one in the mail soon! Not much is new with Jason lately. He has been working tons of overtime lately up unitl this week. Now he is back to the regualr hours of Mon through Thurs, 10 hour days. Ava is growing like a weed. She is over 30 lbs and is getting taller every day. I can't get enough of her, and so many days I pick her up from preschool and just get so down on myself for not being a stay home mother... but it's just not me to stay home. I do feel guilty though.... She is every bit of aunreyness that comes with red hair! I can barely keep up with her... so its great news that Jason has had a full recovery from back surgery so he can help me! We have officially stopped going to the grociery store, out to eat, and in public with her, its a fiasco.... Mira is doing great as usual at school. She is definently our studious kiddo! Grades, books school work and projects are what she ties herself up with. She does like to fit her Nintendo Wii and DS in every now and again to play. Well hopefully this cold cold weather isn't causing too many problems for everyone! We wish you a very merry christmas and a happy and prosperious New Year! Love always, the Taliaferro's

November is HERE!!!!

Well I hope everyone had a GREAT halloween! I know we did. The girls were too cute this year. Mira was an "electric witch" Ava was a bumble bee at her schhol parade, and minnie mouse on Halloween night. They had so much fun and got so much candy! You will see a bunch of pictures from Mira's 11th birthday party, to boo at the zoo, to halloween, to carving pumpkins and the pumpkin patch. I cant wait to post some Thanksgiving pictures soon!
