January 2009!

Well HAPPY NEW YEAR!
Life has been so busy this month. I (Amber) started my first official teaching job. I work for 501 as an Elementary Special Education Teacher. Boy oh boy I am keeping busy. I am a traveling teacher and I spend half of every day at a different school, makes for an interesting day. The girls are getting back into the groove of school and preschool. Mira and Ava had a great Christmas break and of course it wasn't long enough. They are growing so fast, it makes me sad to think about it. Ava will be two this may and Mira is 11 1/2 already!
I havent posted a blog for SO long because I broke our camera at my Graduation in December and then we didnt get a new one until recently. We dont have any Christmas pictures to show so these are some new pics that are mostly from last weekend, except the Graduation pictures are from early December ! Enjoy and have a great week. The girls on sunday morning relaxing on the couch.

Ava loves to read the paper when Daddy is done with it.

Ava got a 4 wheeler for Christmas (from grandma and grandpa) and she LOVES to ride it...... all over!

The beautiful sisters....Ava looks forced to take this pic! ha ha

Picking out our Christmas tree the day after Thanksgiving, Daddy took the picture

Well Thanksgiving has come and gone and Christmas is here in a few weeks. I haven't done any shopping and we just got our tree up last weekend. I love Christmas time but for some reason it seems to have just crept up on me this year! I am officially done with my Bachelors Degree. I graduate next Friday night and cant wait. I haven't decided if I will continue on to get my masters degree or not yet. I probably will not for a few years. I will be teaching 3 and 4th grade special education to finish off this school year at Whitson Elementary School. I have learned so much looking back over the past 3 years at Washburn University. I hope I will be a great teacher! Ok well I posted our family Christmas picture, but no worries... you'll be getting one in the mail soon! Not much is new with Jason lately. He has been working tons of overtime lately up unitl this week. Now he is back to the regualr hours of Mon through Thurs, 10 hour days. Ava is growing like a weed. She is over 30 lbs and is getting taller every day. I can't get enough of her, and so many days I pick her up from preschool and just get so down on myself for not being a stay home mother... but it's just not me to stay home. I do feel guilty though.... She is every bit of aunreyness that comes with red hair! I can barely keep up with her... so its great news that Jason has had a full recovery from back surgery so he can help me! We have officially stopped going to the grociery store, out to eat, and in public with her, its a fiasco.... Mira is doing great as usual at school. She is definently our studious kiddo! Grades, books school work and projects are what she ties herself up with. She does like to fit her Nintendo Wii and DS in every now and again to play. Well hopefully this cold cold weather isn't causing too many problems for everyone! We wish you a very merry christmas and a happy and prosperious New Year! Love always, the Taliaferro's

September...... Ahh fall is here!

This past weekend Ava and I traveled out to Missouri to see my brother coach a football game. He is such an awsome coach! We miss uncle AJ!!! Our time was short but fun, the weather has been BEAUTIFUL the last few weeks. I am really not ready for the chills of winter yet! My student teaching is going great and I am already done working in first grade.. that was a fast 9 weeks. Now I am starting with 4th grade and 5th grade special ed this week for the next 6 weeks then GRADUATION!!! I hope to get a teaching job offer in December but otherwise I will full time substitute teach until next fall. For those of you that didn't know, Jason had major lower back surgery this week. He had a herniated disc for over a year now and it finally just ruptured in his lower back. The neorosurgeon went in and removed the entire rupture. Hopefully this will relieve Jason of his pain for the future! We are praying for that to happen. The surgery went well and just a little more complicated then planned but still went well. It was rough for the first 48 hours then things started to look up. I snuck a picture of him right before we left the hospital and then one of his incision site.... it doesnt look as bad as it really was! I also attached some photos of Ava at school. She LOVES to do art projects.... however she is SOOOO MESSY! There are also a few pictures of me teaching first grade! I really did enjoy that age group. Well our next post will be of the girls at the pumpkin patch and halloween. I love Fall ! Enjoy your week and I hope a few of these pictures make you smile! Love you all.

School is off to a great start!

Hello All: So sorry that once again it has been over a month since we blogged. August flew by and so did September. We are ready for October at the Taliaferro house. We love Halloween. This year it falls on a Friday night and both girls will be trick or treating together.... so cute! My student teaching has just flown by I have 9 more weeks. I have learned so much about first graders.... they are EXHAUSTING!!! In 2 weeks I will move into special education to finish up my student teaching.
Well, anyway every year Jason's parents have this really pretty vine that grows up their deck, we took Ava's picture there when she was just 4 months old and now when she is a year and 4 months old. Hopefully we can take these pictures here every year on the same date.
We got to see one of my brother's football games last weekend. His team is doing pretty good this year and way better than last year.
We haven't had much time to do anything else but lesson plans, lesson plans, lesson plans. Being a teacher is so much planning!!!! I can't wait until I have my own classroom. Hope to see all of you this fall!!! Love the Taliaferro's

and from the front side: they wont tell me what they were talking about...
Awwww Ava looking up to Cooper and Macie....love it!
Ava always gets the sunday paper after daddy is finished with it! She loves to "read" it.
Awwww so pretty looking at the flowers.

Mira is enjoying her new bedroom and she was laughing so hard here. She just cracks me up all the time! She is getting to be so independent...... So simple and sweet. She wanted me to take this picture to put on her student council posters, she was running for class representive but lost by 1 vote!
Mira's friend, Alyssa, they were playing the Wii. Ava thinks she is one of the big girls when Mira has a friend over... too cute.

Ava just learned how to say "Cheese" when taking pictures. Ava loves to play in Mira's lego's when her sissy is not home... she gets in so much trouble!!!

Once again have a great week and thank God for all the precious moments of each day!
