Saturday morning...not much going on so....we'll post a few pictures of Ava and Mommy goofing around....... Life is good today, we will rejoice and be glad in it. Happy weekend to all!

college....again...ugh!

Hello Hello Hello! Yes, it's true today marks the day I am starting back this semester towards my Masters in Special Education. I am 1 semester in and today I am starting my second semester. With the economy and the hiring freezes I have no other choice but to forge on and get my masters degree. What I am talking about is not very simple to follow, but please feel free to try. When I graduated in December of 2008 I graduated with 2 degrees. One of them is Kindergarten through 6th grade Elementary Bachelors Degree and the other one is a K-6 Special Ed provisional liscense, but it is only good for 2 years unless I get my Masters in Special Education to make that a permanent liscense.
Soooooo, given the state of financial emergency that the economy is in right now, I am a "non" tenured teacher, which means I have not been teaching for more than 3 years with the same district and until I become "tenured" I can be "cut" for any reason. Basically what I am trying to say is that I was not necessarily ready to persue my Masters Degree yet, but I either go ahead and get it so that I am somewhat guaranteed a job in Special Education(because of the shortage) or I risk the chance of being "cut" as a general education teacher.....WOW! What a mouthful, and a somewhat scary situation!
Long story is that tonight I begin a class called " Special Education Conferencing" and tomorrow night I begin a class called "Special Education Assessment", both of these sound extremly difficult but I will put my best foot foward and drudge on......... On the bright side I am already 9 hours into the 36 hour program so after this May I will have 15 hours completed and should be on track to graduate with my Master Degree in Special Education by May 2011 !!!! Please pray for me..... ha ha just kidding! Love you all and thanks for the good lucks :)

2010 !!! Happy New Year

It's finally here....a new decade! I hope everyone had a great and wonderful 2009! But you know the old saying..out with the old in with the new......

2010 is going to be a great year for us all! I know the Taliaferro's are really ready to start this year off!!!
This year Amber will turn 30, Ava will turn 3, Mira will enter her ...oh--no-- TEENS!! yes she will be 13 this year, and Jason will be 35! Wow some big milestone birthday's for us. We have very basic resolutions, to work on our " tri " ..... now what I mean by our tri is our mind, body and spirit! We are all 4 going to focus on increasing our activity to work on the body part, we are going to get back in our "church" routine and possibly add a bible study or two in there for our "spirit" side, and we are going to all start to challenge ourselves more with the kinds of games and activities that we do to increase the mind part. Yes this may sound strange, but I really feel that we are out of balance as a family right now.  If we get our mind, body and spirit in sync then I think our overall family will be much more successful and more positive for 2010!
With that, I hope your resolutions are still going strong, and don't give up..... its going to be a very prosporous year if we stay focused!!!!
